The Precious Lillie Inc. organization was established in 2015. This organization was created to honor the vision, integrity, and ideals of Lillie Wilson-Wells and to reflect her passionate commitment to students’ education, empowerment, and advancement.
We empower communities through the pursuit of higher education.
We educate by driving awareness and supporting efforts preventing, dedicating, and treating cancer.
We elevate communities through health advocacy, cultural awareness, financial literacy, and socioeconomic empowerment.
To promote higher learning as a catalyst for positive change. Every scholarship awarded will enable us to be a key contributor to the increment of future leaders, professionals, and entrepreneurs.
While Lillie was lying in her transition bed, she asked her daughter, Marlo Wilson-Alston, "What will her legacy be?" Marlo's response to the question was to establish a nonprofit 501(c)(3) that would continue to execute her life's work, with the goal of ensuring every woman and underrepresented person of color can go to college. Marlo drafted a charter and enlisted her two sisters, Tracy Jowers, Margo Wilson, Katrina Millsape (Lillie's pseudo daughter), and Lillie's best friends, Renee Thompson, Marge Satterfield, and Maxine Bagley to establish the Precious Lillie Foundation in 2015.
Lillie Wilson-Wells left a legacy of goodwill through her service to the National Coalition of 100 Black Women (NCBW) Southern New Jersey Chapter. At the time of her passing, she was NCBW-SNJ President Emeritus. She was also the Chartering Executive Vice President, Member of the Board of Directors, and Vice President of Membership & Chapter Development for NCBW-SNJ. In addition, she was also a Board of Directors for the Southern New Jersey AIDS Coalition. Lillie's dedication to empowering and advancing women and girls of color ran deeply throughout her veins. Even during her final days of life, she continued to hold committee meetings and recruit new members to NCBW-SNJ. She was a true stalwart who exuded class, sophistication, and professionalism.
